Hot blue starIts story
51 Piscium sinks into the long chain of the Fishes, a blue-white B-type star about 264 light-years away. Its light left around 1762, when James Cook was sailing the South Seas mapping islands for the British crown. Hot, young, and cool-toned to the eye, stars like this one bring a nervous shine to a usually dim constellation.
