Its story
59 Eridani is a yellow-white F-type star along the long course of Eridanus, the celestial river that begins near Rigel and stretches southward. At just 136 light-years —an astronomically close distance— it shares a chromatic kinship with the Sun, though it burns somewhat hotter. Its light set out around 1890, when the Lumière brothers had yet to film anything and Eiffel had just unveiled his tower in Paris.
