Its story

Delta-2 Tauri belongs to the Hyades open cluster, the closest stellar group to Earth and the unmistakable triangular head of the Bull. It shares with its sisters a single motion through the galaxy, inherited from a common birth some six hundred million years ago. Its cool white tone contrasts with the red of Aldebaran, which only appears to be part of the cluster from our line of sight.
