Hot blue starIts story
24 Eridani is a B-type blue star 655 light-years away, set along the long celestial course of the river Eridanus, which winds from Orion deep into the southern sky. Its hot atmosphere places it among the B stars common to the young regions of the galaxy, where lingering clouds of gas still light their offspring. The light arriving tonight left the star in the 14th century.
