Its story
27 Piscium is a yellow G-type star roughly 234 light-years away, caught between the knots of the Cord of Pisces. Though it belongs to the Sun's spectral family, its magnitude 4.88 at such a range places it far above our star in raw luminosity —the mark of a giant well into its evolution. The light arriving tonight set out around 1791, the year Herschel was refining his deep-sky catalogues.
