108 Aquarii belongs to that rare family of white A-type stars whose brightness refuses to stand still — it oscillates with the inner pulse of its atmosphere. Nearly 319 light-years away, its light crossed the void while empires shifted on Earth. The pulsation is subtle at magnitude 5.17, picked up by the Hipparcos satellite long before any human eye could trace it.
