75 Pegasi lies inside the Great Square of Pegasus, the emblematic asterism of the northern autumn sky. It is a white A-type variable 233 light-years away, with a brightness that shifts slightly —something only specialised catalogues record in detail. Its cool, clean light crosses centuries to reach the eye: it set out before the telegraph or photography existed, and lands on time in pupils that now live among satellites.
