5 Pegasi is a yellow-white F-type star that sits at the edges of the great winged horse, away from the bright Square but still belonging to the same vast autumn figure. Its surface runs hotter than the Sun's and gives off a clean light that crosses some three hundred and twenty-one years before arriving here —a span during which entire empires rose and fell upon the Earth.
