Its story
Alkarab belongs to Pegasus, the winged horse born in myth from the blood of beheaded Medusa. A yellow-white F-class star at 170 light-years, she belongs to a constellation whose great square is one of the classic reference points of the northern autumn. The Arabic name alludes to the rear tendon of the leg, a minuscule anatomical detail in the body of an enormous myth.
