Highly luminous starIts story
9 Pegasi hangs on the flank of the winged horse like a yellow G-type lantern, a distant cousin of the Sun yet vastly more imposing: it shines with the luminosity of an evolved star, and its light takes more than nine centuries to arrive. When it set out, the Christian kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula were barely taking shape. It reaches us today as a calm golden reflection, already very unlike the young star that emitted it.
