5 Piscium is a yellow G-type giant 265 light-years away, in a zodiacal constellation populated by quiet stars. Its light set out when Europe was colonizing the Americas. More mature than the Sun, with swollen layers, it continues its slow drift toward later stages. A tempered ember in the ribbon of the Fishes, where stars rarely demand attention.
