Its story

Sigma Aquarii is a white A-type star about 290 light-years away, set in the ancient constellation of the Water Bearer. Its cool, precise light contrasts with the mythological murmur of that region of sky: the eternal urn from which a celestial river has poured, night after night, since Sumerian times. Sigma inhabits that landscape without leading it, shining with the sober clarity typical of A-type stars.
