What is HIP 110873

In Pegasus, the great winged horse of the autumn sky, shines an orange giant, warm and powerful. Its light set out around 1158, when the University of Bologna —one of the first academic institutions in Europe— was being founded. Cooler and far larger than the Sun, it glows with the muted red of mature stars, now very far from their blue youth.

HIP 110873 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
