Hot blue starIts story
18 Pegasi is a hot blue-white B-type star, set just over a thousand light-years away in the autumn Pegasus. Its light left the surface in the High Middle Ages, long before telescopes had been invented. It belongs to the most energetic family in the catalogue: relatively short lives, hot atmospheres, and an almost electric blue that travels for centuries before brushing the Earth.
