Variable star

Its story

In Piscis Austrinus, the brief constellation of the southern sky, shines a blue-white B-type star, young and variable, its brightness shifting in subtle oscillations. Its light set out close to 1,231 years ago, when the Tang emperors ruled a cosmopolitan Chang'an and the first Iberian monastic currents were copying manuscripts onto parchment. It arrives now hot and pulsing, a bluish echo of a distant medieval world.
