6 Piscis Austrini is a white A-type star shining at 503 light-years within the southern fish, a quiet constellation dominated by the dazzling Fomalhaut. Hotter and more luminous than the Sun, its light looks onto a stretch of southern sky little visited by northern observers. It lies beyond Fomalhaut, in a zone where modern catalogs still pick out faint stars that escape the naked eye.
