Its story
4 Aquarii is a binary system about 198 light-years away in the figure of the Water-Bearer. Its two components, blended to the eye into a single point of combined magnitude 5.99, are yellow-white stars that yield only to a dark sky and a good telescope. The light crossing Earth's atmosphere from them today set out around the dawn of the nineteenth century, when European studies still debated the nature of nebulae.
