What is 13 Delphinus
13 Delphini shines in the Dolphin —small but memorable, drawn as a diamond with a tail traditionally called Job's Coffin. It is a white A-type star around 429 light-years away, hotter and brighter than the Sun. Its light set out around 1597, when the daily rotation of the Earth had not yet been universally accepted across Europe as established fact.
Where it is and when to see it
13 Delphinus lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is August: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
