Its story
17 Capricorni fits within the Sea-Goat, an ancient and discreet zodiacal constellation, without very bright stars yet steeped in Mediterranean mythology. It is a white A-class star a little over two hundred and sixty light-years away, with a surface a few thousand degrees hotter than the Sun’s. Its light set out long before astronomy began to classify stellar spectra in any systematic way.
