Hot blue starIts story
27 Vulpeculae is a blue-white B-type star that spins at dizzying speed: its projected rotational velocity exceeds three hundred kilometres per second, flattening it into an oblate spheroid. At 318 light-years, it radiates tens of times more than the Sun from within the small Fox, a modern constellation traced by Hevelius between the Swan and the Arrow.
