Its story
ε Pavonis is one of the principal stars of the Peacock, a southern constellation drawn by Dutch navigators at the end of the 16th century. White and serene, of A-type, she lies some 105 light-years away: relatively close in cosmic terms, near enough that her natural brilliance reaches Earth without much loss.
