In the rich field of Sagittarius shines a yellow-white star, a relatively close neighbour at 69 light-years. Its light set out around 1956, when the space age was being prepared with the early work on Sputnik and the world was learning to look toward possible orbits. A touch hotter than the Sun and similar in size, it feels like a youthful echo of our own star, anchored in a different stretch of the galaxy.
