Terebellum
Ome
Its story
Terebellum forms, together with three other neighbouring stars, a small quadrilateral on the rump of Sagittarius that the ancient Romans called precisely «Terebellum», «the little square». It is a yellow G-type star 85 light-years away, similar in colour to the Sun but somewhat more evolved. The constellation that hosts it is dense and rich in stars: aiming toward it means leaning into one of the most travelled visual avenues of the northern summer sky.
