Hot blue starIts story
14 Cygni glows hot and blue at the heart of the Swan, inside the corridor of the Orion Arm. It is a massive B-type star whose light, emitted more than six centuries ago —before the fall of Constantinople— now crosses the telescope's mirrors. Its surface comfortably exceeds ten thousand degrees, a temperature that paints it the pure blue of the youngest and most vigorous stars.
