Hot blue starIts story
At 1109 light-years, in the Swan that soars across the northern Milky Way, blazes a class B blue star whose light set out when Persian astronomers were refining stellar tables in the ninth-century Seljuk court. Its blue-white hue is born of a scorching atmosphere thousands of degrees above the Sun. It accompanies the celestial bird in its eternal descent along the river of stars that crosses the northern summer.
