Its story

Omega-2 Cygni is a red giant on Cygnus's asymptotic branch, an aged star in full expansion, just barely seen under dark skies. It forms a visual double with its neighbour Omega-1, splittable in small telescopes: two distinct embers strung by chance along the plane of the Milky Way.
