Another blue ember beats in Sagittarius, some 477 light-years away. Its ray left the star around 1549, when Francis Xavier was landing in Japan and the world's seas were being laced together by new trade routes. Hot and young, its surface easily passes ten thousand degrees —well over twice the Sun's— bathing the surrounding space in an almost violet glow.

HIP 93225 lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is July: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight. How high it climbs above the horizon depends on the latitude you watch from.
