Its story
In Sagittarius, towards the heart of the Milky Way, burns an orange K-type star. Its light crossed 542 years: it set out as Hernando de Talavera presented to the Catholic Monarchs his favourable report on Columbus s venture in 1486. Cooler than the Sun, it pulses among dark nebulae, set into the dense lane where the galaxy reveals its core.
