Its story

Within ancient Hercules, the hero among northern constellations, radiates an orange giant some 651 light-years away. Its light set off around 1374, when Petrarch died in Arquà and Italian humanism began to unfurl. Larger and cooler than the Sun, its coppery hue stands out against the silvery embroidery of hotter stars sharing the field.
