Iot
Its story
Iota Pavonis shines in the Peacock, one of the southern constellations devised by the Dutch navigators Keyser and de Houtman in the late sixteenth century. It is a yellow G-type star at just 57 light-years, which makes it a near neighbour of the Sun and, in colour and temperature, one of its many scattered sisters across the southern sky.
