The light crossing the atmosphere tonight took leave of its surface around 1508, just as Michelangelo was beginning to paint the vault of the Sistine Chapel. Hot-blue by temperature: one of those hot stars whose relative youth translates into a cutting brilliance, foreign to the warmth of our Sun.
