What is HIP 88060

Deep in Sagittarius, looking toward the galactic center, an orange class K star glows softer and more golden than the Sun. Its light set out 1013 years ago: at that time the viziers of the Abbasid caliphate governed Baghdad and Arab astronomers measured the sky with wooden quadrants. That coppery gleam has crossed the entire medieval era to reach us now.
