43 Sagittarii burns with a warm orange light some 482 light-years away, calm and amber, in a stretch of sky that looks toward the galactic heart. It is an evolved K-class star, swollen and cool compared with the Sun —the very fate awaiting stars like ours once the hydrogen in their cores runs out. A mature flame among the young crowd of Sagittarius.
