Hot blue starIts story
In Ara, the southern altar, burns a blue B-type star whose light set out around the year 576, in the final breaths of late antiquity. Far hotter, more massive and more luminous than the Sun, it radiates with the clean intensity that only very young stars possess. Almost fifteen centuries of travel separate its apparent birth from the moment its glow finally reaches a human pupil.
