Hot blue starIts story
4 Arietis is a hot blue B-type star within the Ram, the first sign of the zodiac and the ancient vernal point where the Sun crossed the celestial equator in Greek antiquity. Its surface burns well above ten thousand kelvin, shining with the blue-white typical of massive, youthful stars. At 275 light-years, its light set out around 1750, when Kant was publishing his Universal Natural History and Theory of the Heavens, speculating on the nature of the nebulae.
