Its story
53 Herculis is a quiet F-type star roughly 95 light-years away, in one of the broadest reaches of the northern sky. Catalogued as an X-ray source by the ROSAT satellite, it also appears in infrared and ultraviolet inventories: it emits across nearly the full spectrum reachable by orbital observatories. It is also a double star and a high-proper-motion object —its track across the sky outpaces most of its apparent neighbours.
