Its story
105 Herculis burns about 974 light-years away, an orange K-type giant lost among the most distant members of the celestial hero. Its surface, several thousand degrees cooler than the Sun's, yields the deep amber tone that emerges after decades of stellar evolution. The light reaching the eye tonight set out in the High Middle Ages —centuries before the first telescope existed—, almost a thousand years of travel to surface in the heart of northern summer.
