Its story
In the body of the legendary Hercules shines a yellow type-G star, kin to the Sun but stationed at the respectable distance of 1,001 light-years. Its light set out exactly a thousand years ago, when Al-Andalus was living the splendour of the Caliphate of Córdoba and the first Vikings were setting foot on American soil. It has crossed an entire millennium of sky to peer down today, golden and serene, in a heroic constellation.
