Its story
100 Herculis is a white A-type star some 162 light-years away, nested in the body of the celestial demigod. At magnitude 5.83 it stays barely perceptible to the eye from clean skies, within a constellation famed for its great central quadrilateral known as the Keystone. Hercules dominates the northern summer sky, and this cool, discreet point contributes to the silent backdrop against which its most celebrated stars shine.
