Its atmosphere, far hotter than the Sun's, radiates with the intensity reserved for massive suns. It belongs to the deep background of Cassiopeia's W, a region scored by the Milky Way and by the scars of ancient supernova explosions.

44 Cassiopeiae lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is November: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
