Hot blue starIts story
11 Scorpii burns blue about 367 light-years away, in the body of the Scorpion, that figure that crawls through the southern Milky Way. Its type-B surface easily exceeds twenty thousand degrees, a temperature that tints every emitted photon electric blue. The light crossing the eye tonight broke free toward the seventeenth century, when it was still being debated whether the Earth turned around the Sun.
