Within Draco's coils, some 811 light-years away, beats this orange type K star. Its light set out around 1215, the year of Magna Carta, when English barons forced King John to accept the first written limits on royal power. Cooler than the Sun yet much larger, it spills an ancient copper glow over the constellation that snakes silently around the northern celestial pole.
