Its story

In Boötes, a yellow-white F-type star shines just 117 light-years away. Its light set out when Europe was plunging into the roar of the twenties and the first talking pictures were astonishing audiences. Slightly hotter and more luminous than the Sun, its almost ivory glow is one of the easiest to imagine accompanying a modern evening. This near neighbour has been travelling for a century to meet our gaze tonight.
