Its story
36 Librae is an orange K-type star in Libra, the small zodiacal constellation that the Romans drew from the claws of Scorpius. At 318 light-years away, it radiates with the warm tone of stars cooler than the Sun yet honourably luminous. Its light takes so long to reach us that the flicker visible tonight emerged from its surface while Galileo was sharpening the first telescope that would point toward Jupiter.
