Nu-1 Boötis is an orange K-type giant whose light has traveled more than eight hundred years through the void before reaching us. It lives in Boötes, the constellation dominated by blazing Arcturus, one of the brightest stars in the sky. In the quiet background of the mythological herdsman, this calm ember rounds out the silhouette without challenging its dazzling neighbor, sketching the head of the celestial hunter.

Nu 1 Boötis lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
