Its story

45 Boötis is one of the rare relatively close neighbours in this small group: about sixty-four light-years away, an F-type star burning slightly hotter than the Sun and pulsing with a characteristic yellow-white. It lies inside the Herdsman, near the orange blaze of Arcturus. Its light takes only a couple of human generations to reach us —close, in cosmic terms.
