What is Nu 2 Boötis
Nu-2 Boötis is a white type A star sitting about 388 light-years away, toward the northern end of the Herdsman, just beneath the Great Bear's tail. Together with its twin Nu-1 it forms an optical pair visible to the naked eye under clean skies: two points of similar brightness that perspective happens to set side by side, with no real gravitational bond. A double of the sky, not of space.

Nu 2 Boötis lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is April: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight. How high it climbs above the horizon depends on the latitude you watch from.
