Its story
47 Boötis shines white about 274 light-years away, within the Herdsman, that figure who seems to drive the Bears around the pole. It is a type-A star, hotter and more luminous than the Sun, with the characteristic paleness of its class. Its light broke free in the first half of the eighteenth century, when the great Rococo mansions of Europe were still being raised.
