Its story
54 Hydrae shines just 99 light-years away, inside Hydra —the longest, most winding constellation in the entire sky. It is a yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter and faster-evolving than the Sun. Its light set out in the early 1920s and is still crossing a cosmic stretch barely larger than a breath on galactic scales.
