Its story
Boötes is the shepherd of the northern sky, a figure led by Arcturus. Far from its orange leader, this K-type giant shines discreetly six hundred and eighty-four light-years away. Its light left the star around 1341, when Petrarch was crowned poet laureate on the Roman Capitoline. Warm orange, no detected variability or companion, just one more in Boötes's quiet flock.
